My Testimony Current Thoughts #7

Just think, earlier this month, I was told I had a lump on my breast & the cyst on my brain had grown and moved,  In addition, I lost my voice due to bronchitis and laryngitis.

In dealing with all of that, I have still managed to form & connect with people and grow my business. GOD is faithful as long as you trust and believe. He has placed so many things in my hands that I can barely carry them. I refuse to allow life's storms to hold me back! I'm motivated and moving forward.. #GRATEFUL

I tell people all the time that "I walk through storms daily and barely get wet because I'm covered." I am truly BLESSED
beyond measure.

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

My Top 5 Healthy Living Tips

I was asked to share a few tips on healthy living & these are my top 5. This is what works for me & some people may not agree. If you have any tips, please feel free to share in the comment section down below.

1.  Making Smart Choices- I'm very picky about my food choices. I try really hard to make smart choices.   For example, instead of a bag of chips, I grab a 90 calorie bag of soybeans. Once I started eating healthier, my body started craving those foods.

2.  Portion Control- Knowing your limits is very important. My total meal is usually in 6-8oz portions.
Did you know that the recommended serving size of meat is 3oz? Well, now you know :)

3.  Don't Skip Meals- Nothing burns me up more than to hear someone say that they have been skipping meals to lose weight. The body is like a car; it needs fuel in order to run. Eating 6 small healthy meals makes all the difference in the world.

4.  Get In Gear- Cardio is my best friend ( HUGS). I started out walking one block & now I can run 5 miles. Pacing yourself is key. Find a fitness activity that works for you. Thirty minutes a day makes a difference.

5.  Faith- Last but not least FAITH. Believing that can live and maintain a healthier lifestyle is very important. You have to be your own cheerleader. I have always been surrounded by negativity until one day, I woke up and took a heavy dose of  "wake the heck up" & started making changes to better my overall health. For me, my first step was deciding to have my gastric bypass surgery & making a commitment to be a healthier me. Having FAITH makes all the difference in the world.

Certified Stalker My Current Thoughts #6

My Current Thoughts #6

Here we go with my random ramblings as always ...

I'm currently thinking about today's TO DO LIST
*Finish article
*Cook dinner
*Finish this week's read The Tongue a Creative Force
*Relax & chill with Mini Me

Oh yeah and watch the Soul Train Awards

SN: I am not a fan of television or The Soul Train Music Award, but they're honoring my favorite group tonight (NEW EDITION) & since I'm a certified stalker, I must indulge.

Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike, Ralph & Johnny have helped me in so many ways over the years. When I felt sad or lonely, they always had a song for me. I can remember listening to Candy Girl on my Granny's record player and all the posters that my sister and I collected & plastered all over our hot pink bedroom walls. My mom made sure that we went to every concert & I thank her for aiding in my New Edition addiction LOL.

Let's see what else ...

Last night was cool I got the opportunity to see Chris Williams perform ( I just call him friend) & it was such a delight. It brings me joy to feed the dreams of others. His music is a blend of soul, funk, & gospel.

That is all for now off to finish my to do list.

Taking Time For Granted ...

Today I received some not so great news from the Dr. and I started to feel a little sad. I had to take a step back and have a long conversation with God.

As I was walking out of the Dr. office, a gentleman with a cane was going out too so I waited for him, so that I could hold the door. As he approached ,he asked if I knew where the Dr.office was located on his paperwork and I did, so I gave him directions and advised him that it's best to set an appointment with them.

The man paused for a moment, then said, That would be nice, but I don't have much time left and I need to have this done." (with tears in his eyes & a smile on his face) He thanked me for holding the door and wished me well & I did the same and told him that I would keep him in my prayers.

All too often we take TIME for granted... I learned a long time ago to cherish each moment because you never know if it will be your last. Time is the one thing that we can not control how much or how little we have. What we can control is our use of it. I feel blessed & grateful for the shoes that I walk in daily .... #mycurrent thoughts...
